Hello

I´m a newbie on MD and HI-MD.

I create music beatmixes in MixMeister, this mixes will i use when I work as an Spinninginstructor. From MixMeister can I export playlist to file, mp3, wma and wav. If I use mp3 or wma it will be just one big file. I want this tracks separeted so I could step between the tracks.

My question is:

If I export the beatmix to wav as separate traks on my PC, can I transfer this tracks.wav to my MD (I think I should by an Sony MZ-RH10)and playback this gapless? It work on CD!

And can I play this minidisc in older players?

Or should i buy an mp3 player? Most of mp3 players can´t play gapless playback, then I must use one big mp3 or wma file! I had hope at MD!

I will be glad if some nice people could answer me!

The transfer should work fine to MD. The only way it will work for playback on older units, I'm assuming you mean non-Hi-MD units, would be to record them back on 74 or 80 minute MD's as regular lp2 or similar recordingd. The one gig discs will not work in non Hi-MD units.

If I were me I would forsake the RH=10, and go straight to the RH1, I think it would work much better for you, especially if you want older unit compability.

Take care,

Bob

Witch transfermode should i use? Transfer wav via USB connection or TOS-Link?

I have read that you can´t divide your track if you have transfer this from your computer?

What mode have the USB, USB1.1 or USB2.0. And what is the difference between RH-10 and RH-1?

TOSlink would be realtime. So transfer via USB.

KrazyIvan, a few posts above, says that you can insert the track marks after transferring.

All Hi-MDs have been USB 1.1 except the RH1, which reportedly transfers somewhat faster, although still not at USB 2.0 speed. It's impossible to write to the disc that fast.

The RH-10 has a big lighted display. Perhaps that's important to you if you are DJ-ing in near darkness.

The RH-1 is the top of the line Hi-MD unit. It has a narrow display on the side--one long line that's the equivalent of two lines--and shows track information on the remote. The RH-1 improves on transfer speed and playback quality of MP3s, and has a lot of other small improvements, but its main advantage is that it allows old MDs, from before Hi-MD, to be uploaded.

Search for "pictorial" and you can get a close look at each unit. Like this:
