Hacking the MXD-D3 for DJ usage.

Hello folks, looks like a good community here, hopefully you will be able to point me in the right direction for solving this challenge.

I am a DJ and a student, which means i cannot really afford to make the jump to CD players like most DJs have. However, my old minidisc deck contains all the functionality i need for DJ usage, the seeking is fast and accurate enough and the pitch control function is already present.

The problem is in accessibility. For accurate beatmatching I need to be able to adjust the pitch of the unit on the fly, preferably using a big old fader or somesuch, though up and down arrows would suffice. It would also be very useful if the jog wheel could be reprogrammed so that it seeked (sought? :D ) through tracks while the two smaller seek buttons skipped through tracks - just reversing the functions of the two.

I do not know if it is within the capabilities of the unit to have an instant pitch adjust but if so, the unit is simply begging to be modified. I think a lot of DJs would also want to follow suit.

Thanks for reading, hope you can help.
