Smallan
Hi, When I wanted to re-record over a segment on my MZ-R410, I could set to 'record from here' in my menu, pause at any point on a recorded disc and my new recording would begin from that point. With my NH700 I get the 'disc full' message when I try to record over a previously recorded disc. What do I need to do?
A440
Hi, When I wanted to re-record over a segment on my MZ-R410, I could set to 'record from here' in my menu, pause at any point on a recorded disc and my new recording would begin from that point. With my NH700 I get the 'disc full' message when I try to record over a previously recorded disc. What do I need to do? Funny, I never noticed that option was gone, but you're right. Now when you push Record it should start recording after the end of your final recorded track if there's any room on the disc. If not, you're going to have to erase something, using Menu/Edit/Erase. Also check to see that the Write Protect tab is fully closed. Edited August 23, 2006 by A440
Smallan
OK, seems you CAN'T record from the paused position part way through a disc IF the disc is full. Once you have made some space then it seems you can, don't need to access the menu. I was only concerned because if you had a long track and only want to record over part of it you'd be sunk, you'd have to delete the whole track. Thanks. A440
I was only concerned because if you had a long track and only want to record over part of it you'd be sunk, you'd have to delete the whole track. You can add track marks (during playback) around the part you want to delete, and just delete that portion. Doing that used to be a problem for uploading the edited track in old versions of SonicStage, but the bug has been fixed, at least since SS 3.4. The new recording will start at the end of the disc, but you can use the Edit menu (or SonicStage) to Move it into the place you want. Personally, as someone who is not always up-to-date on labeling, I'm glad to know that I can't accidentally record over a full disc.
