Coverting 220v UK MD Recorders to 110/220v in Canada?

Hey

I've looking for a SONY MDS JB-940 or 980 and in all of my web searching I can only find UK sources.

How difficult and/or expensive is it to have a service technician convert a UK 220v unit to 110/120 v for use in North America?

I'd apreciate some informed advice or any referrals to qualified service shops in the Toronot Ontario CANADA area.

Thanks

Michael

Converting the unit itself to a 110/120V unit may end up being more expensive than simply acquiring an additional Step Up-Down Voltage Transformer/Converter. A simple 1000W capacity Step Up-Down Voltage Transformer/Converter (usually have about 2 to 3 outlets) can be used safely for extended periods and typically have an average price tag of USD$60 or more depending on brand.

Good luck and do keep us posted.
