gtaylor48192 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Share Posted September 1, 2006 I have a friend that has a Denon DN-M2300R that has trouble dealing with 80 minute discs in the #2 (recorder slot). I also have a Sony MDS-B4P broadcast MD cart player which I think has the same condition. Am I right in thinking that some of the older equipment, including professional equipment, were marketed before the 80 minute MD was introduced and therefore have trouble with those discs? ZosoIV Posted September 1, 2006 Report Share Posted September 1, 2006 I had a Denon DMD-1300 deck that did the same thing - 80 minute discs, with their tighter track pitch, resulted in skipping, dropouts, and TOC-writing problems. 74-minute blanks worked without issue. jonny mac Posted September 7, 2006 Report Share Posted September 7, 2006 MDs were originally 60 and 74 minute so maybe some of the older stuff can't handle the 80s.
