Question

I was looking through the User's Guide for the E-507 and noticed the following:

"Do not use the Network Walkman on an aircraft."

Why is that? I am going to assume they mean do not use the radio feature on an aircraft as it could interfere with navigation, communications, etc. Using the mp3 player should be no different than using an ipod right? Has anyone had any problems with flight attendants while using one of these while flying?

Comments? Suggestions? Keen insight?

I don't believe there is any true mechanical issue that would arise from employing a flash unit at such heights, but I do know that during flight most airlines ask you to turn off all electronic devices until the plane reaches 10,000 feet..dunno why really, how could a simple mp3 player generate enough interferance to take down a jet? :P

The Radio fuction cannot interfere with any electronics in the plane, because it just receives radio waves, it doesn't transmit. The interference caused by the electronics inside the player is barely noticeable. I assume Sony just follows too strictly some regulations, that's all.
