Well I currently own a hardly used JVC XM-R70 Mini Disc player. You know the kind of player that was on the market prior to the development of ATRAC2 or what we like to declare the "Net-MD" Years. I decided to purchase such a player because I wanted to have something that looked edgy. I liked the way that the disc player had a cool remote control that lit up. It reminded me of a disc player that I wanted to get and that was an AIWA AM-F70. Well, one the first day that I got it, I was trying to get the sound to work. Well, I found out that the discs that I used prior to the ownership of this device would not work because they had been made by Sonic Stage. No problem, I just convert, itll still be so worth it to use the backlit display function on the remote.

Anyways, so I have this player, using it everywhere: cutting grass, trips in between classes, in the car, and while working on homework or projects. Well, everything was fine today. I had just listened to a little Classic Enigma while walking to class in my cool new jean jacket. So I put it inside the jacket and after 6 hours of just sitting inside my jacket, I got set for a 45 minute drive home after dropping off a friend. Well, I placed in the disc, changing into the sweet sounds of ther Doors and Pink Floyd, when all of a sudden, the disc player was flashing "TOC Reading." Well, it should flash that because that is normal...however, it didn't stop flashing it. When I turned it off, it says "Power Off" but is still on! I tried taking a battery out and putting it back to offset the memory. Well, it didn't work. When I got home after dealing with the stupid radio--I love taking long drives with my MD players, I tried hooking it up to the AC Outlet:same result. I don't know. This thing was never damaged, never broken, no problems really. I don't know. Did it just die on me? I am shocked because I have Sony products that I still have and I wanted to have something more expensive to use, well I guess this taught me a lesson huh?

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them. If not, I have a warning to all: If youre going to buy a disc player, buy Sony. I don't care how good looking the player is, Sony is the best brand. It may not have some of the features that some of the other players have, but it is alot better. Now I am back to square one with my Mini Disc Player that is the newer $79.00 one you can buy at Target. O well...
