I have noticed similar problem(?) with a few MP3 files ripped @ VBR.

When imported to SS3.3, they all show up as 128kbps. However, when played on my player (NW-HD3) individual track shows different bit rate such as 196kbps, 205kbps, 226kbps, or 231kbps.

Funny thing to me is these bit rates on NW-HD3 do not even match the ones shown under properties of MP3 files

I don't understand why or how this happens, but I have no problem playing them on my NW-HD3.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Having the same problem here but mine is even worse.

When i transfered all my mp3(256 kbs) into a1000 using SS 3.1, it automatically change the mp3 format to ATRAC, and even worse, its only 64kbs !!

Tried to change the settings for so many times and the result is still the same - 64 kbs.......quite upset about this

.First Click on my Library in SonicStage .

2.Then click on tranfer mode setting .

3.After that click on "Standard transfer mode "

Did that for so many times but after the songs had been transfered and the player still showing ATRAC at 64 kbs

could it be the version of SS ? because i am using 3.1 Will this be solved if i upgrade to 3.3 ?

I`m not sure but it will be better to upgrade your Software(SSver3.3) (Download SonicStage from Download section of atraclife)

Now i`m having some other problems

Today i downloaded 5 songs from Allofmp3 in Mp3@320kpbs .After downloading i converted all my songs in Atrac 192kpbs .Now the real problem starts Sonic Stage showS that it has converted all the songs in Atrac 192kpbs then i transffered my 5 songs to my hd5 & E505. But they showed that songs are in Mp3 320kpbs Amazing ...

Soinc Stagever3.3 my library still shows that these songs are in Atrac 192kpbs but Atrac Audio device track properties show that these songs in Mp3 @320 kpbs ..I `m totally confused now :unsure::unsure::unsure:

Any ideas
