stshores24
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I didn't find this exact topic anywhere.I have Simple Burner 2.0 and SonicStage 3.4 installed on my computer at home. I want to import tracks from CD using Simple Burner so that I can get them to my recorder (a Sony MZ-NH600D) quickly. Later on, I would like to be able to transfer these recordings back to SonicStage so I can have them backed up on my hard drive. Trouble is, it won't let me!It doesn't give me any errors, but it transfers nothing and refreshes the disc as if I HAD transferred something. So what's wrong here? Is there some sort of ATRAC problem that can be solved/tweaked/etc., or am I stuck with having to delete the recordings and transfer them using the slow method (SonicStage->hard drive->recorder)? A440
This is Sony's pathetic attempt to prevent so-called music piracy. Why, if your CD tracks could be uploaded you might give your MD to someone else and they might upload them! Heavens to Betsy! You're going to have to import them to SonicStage from the CD to prove you own it. Look under Tools/Options/CD Drive Settings/CD Importing/Select Format and uncheck "Add DRM," which should give you a little more flexibility with the imported tracks. It will also be quicker to simply import the CD to SonicStage, a conversion, than to upload the tracks back from a disc, which would be a slow USB transfer. Why, if your CD tracks could be uploaded you might give your MD to someone else and they might upload them! Heavens to Betsy!Shock and horror! Why would anyone do such a thing?Oh. OK, thanks! It will also be quicker to simply import the CD to SonicStage, a conversion, than to upload the tracks back from a disc, which would be a slow USB transfer.Yep, but I was wanting to skip SonicStage's import stage the first time in order to get the tracks to my player quicker. Maybe I just need a faster computer that can process the conversions within SonicStage quicker.
A440
If it were me, I would use Simple Burner to fill the discs, and then, if I was sure I wanted the CD on the computer, import it directly into SonicStage. That way you're not wasting space storing tracks you don't want. And you're not losing any time. I don't have the fastest computer--it's a laptop, just 1.4GHz--and for me a new conversion is still faster than a USB 1.1 upload.

I really wish Sony had given us some faster transfer options on these...
