Hi all

I have a MZ-510 MD player. Over time i have amassed a number of MD's full of music.

I recorded them in LP4 format (to get more on disc)

I recently purchased a MD player for my car. My problem is the car player will not play MD's in LP4 format.

I want to transfer them back to PC then re-record them back to MD in standard format.

Any ideas??

Sonicstage just baulks with a message that says they were "Recorded with Net MD or on a different computer"

thanks in advance for any help

:D

your 510 will not be able to upload back to the PC....the other way to get it back to your PC is via the line out on the 510 (if it has one) and do it in real time. but if u have lots of music, this take forever.

the other option is to get a HiMD, which allows u to upload.

Just to clarify a bit, the only way to actually upload these back to PC is with the RH1 Hi-MD recorder, no other Hi-MD units at present time will upload those legacy recordings.

Though even with the RH1, if the tracks were transferred to your unit from a PC previously (using OpenMG/SonicStage/SimpleBurner) it will not transfer them.

If you decide to go the line-out method (headphone out will work too), MarC's HiMDRenderer has a nice utility for managing this - http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=12683
