tims
hi im new to this and i am having trouble. i have an MZ-NH1 sony HI-MD i have just recorded a live concert with it and i want to now make some audio CD copies. i have sonic stage 2.1 but im downloading 3.2. i can only make a cd with the sony compression format that i cant play on a cd player??? i need help to make a real cd. iv read some of the forum topics but they dont make much sence to me if someone can help and keep it real simple that would be great. it seems like sony went out of their way to make things hard. the sound quality when played with the MD is unreal si i realy want to get the recording onto cd. it was recorded with a sony ECM-DS70Pmic. thanks. Justin42
First off, abort the SonicStage 3.2 download immediately and go with either 3.4 or 4.0. (some prefer 3.4, some 4.0, but for your needs it's a tossup, the issues with 4.0 seem to be in converting some MP3s for some users) Be sure to back up your library using the SonicStage tools, uninstall 2.1 completely, and then install 3.4/4.0. Copy protection and stability have improved greatly and it will help be sure the transfer goes smoothly.Once it's installed, you should be able to plug in the NH1 and transfer back to the PC (click on the track(s) that make up the recording, and left the arrow pointing towards the PC [left, usually]). You can then convert to WAV within SonicStage (or use the HiMDRender app if you choose) and burn those WAVs to CD. (right click on the file for the options) Edited November 13, 2006 by Justin42
