cfaber
Hi,I don't know how to understand the Sony Support page for Hi-MD Music Transfer: 1) it says "Minimum requirements OS X 10.3.9" - I have OS X 10.3.9.2) It says that it does not work in environments where the OS is an upgrade to the original installed software - What does that mean? Virtually all 10.3.9 is upgraded, as 10.3.9 *is* an upgrade from earlier 10.3. There is no 10.3.9 for sale in shops. But actually, does it mean I have to use a Mac which has 10.3.9 pre-installed or what? My problem is that Music Transfer shows "Device/Media not connected", despite System Profiler shows the device. Which means: The Mac sniffs the MD, but the software does not.Any ideas what to do (if not upgrading to tiger)? Thanks a lot,Claus
A440
What unit do you have? The Mac-compatible units are MZ-M10, MZ-100 and MZ-RH1.

A440
MZ-RH1. Should work, shouldn't it? C.What's on the disc? Hi-MD recordings (PCM, Hi-SP, Hi-LP) should be detected, yes. Legacy MD recordings (SP, LP2, LP4) may not be. Only Hi-MD recordings are uploadable to Macs.

A440
I have a PC, so unfortunately I have no experience with the Mac software. You're right that it should be working. It's a long shot, but have you tried a different USB cord? Cameras and PDAs use the same cord--it's standard. If the Mac software is anything like the PC software, it has all kinds of quirks depending on what other software is installed, from skinning to firewalls to other music players. Try it with any firewall turned off (and disconnected from the internet obviously) and if that doesn't work, try uninstalling/reinstalling so you're sure that the Sony software is on top of everything else and nothing has gotten in its way. You might also find a Mac user at http://www.atraclife.com , and it wouldn't hurt to post your query there.
