Convert to Atrac3 without SS

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Have been searching for days without success.

Is there any way(or program) that will encode mp3's to Atrac, preferably through the command line. I do not want to use SS as this will need to be automated. The auto transfer function does not seem to work for my mznh600d

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're asking about "Convert automatically and transfer," I think that means that if you try and convert a file that's not already ATRAC (or .mp3 for MZ-RH* units) then it won't ask you each time what you want to do--it will just convert to ATRAC.

What happens if you throw all your mp3s into one folder and import the folder into SonicStage?

You may use the latest SoundForge to convert to ATRAC3[plus], but you'll still need SS to transfer. And I'm not sure how SS will like files converted via SoundForge.

SS likes those files just fine. But there is a glitch in SS that sometimes you have to import the files twice before it will allow you to transfer them. So the steps are:

1. Convert files in SoundForge.

2. Import into Sonic Stage.

3. If SS will let you transfer, you're done!

4. If no transfers allowed, delete the files from your library, but keep them on the hard drive.

5. Import again into Sonic Stage. It should work now!
