jaeson2953
Hello all,I'm using SS 3.4 (US version) with Microsoft AppLocale (Japanese) per Ishiyoshi's instruction in "Titling ATRAC Files In Japanese/Chinese/Korean" thread. When I conncet NW-HD3 to it for transfer, error message pops up and SS 3.4 shuts down. The message reads "Omgjbox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." I did not have any problem using SS 3.3 the same way.Is anyone experiencing similar problem? Is there any way to fix this?Any advice would be appreciated.
Ishiyoshi
Is this issue occurring with every startup of SonicStage 3.4? Otherwise, it may just be an isolated problem and can be rectified easily by updating your WinXP to SP2; if not, please follow the reinstall instructions outlined by the SonicStage Software FAQ within this section of the forum. In addition, please ensure that your are not using a USB hub. Nonetheless, please state your system specs in-depth and we will try and provide further assistance. jaeson2953
Oops, sorry about not following the rules! OS: Windows XP Home Edition (Version 2002) with SP2System: Intel Pentium 4 (2.80 GHz) with 480 MB of RAMSonic Stage 3.4 US VersionI tried reinstall per instruction with no success. The same error happens with every start up of SS 3.4.So far, I have found 2 ways to connect my NW-HD3:(1) Restart SS 3.4 with NW-HD3 still connected after it shuts down display the "Omgjbox.exe error"(2) Run SS 3.4 without AppLocale. I can connect NW-HD3 anytime with no error (now all my Japanese songs are illegible )How can I fix this?Should I try SS 3.4 Japanese version (Can I ever install Japanese version on English Windows??)?Any advice would be appreciated. Ishiyoshi
How can I fix this?Should I try SS 3.4 Japanese version (Can I ever install Japanese version on English Windows??)?Any advice would be appreciated. This is a peculiar issue indeed as Microsoft AppLocale appears to be in conflict with your SonicStage 3.4 setup. As for your query above, yes, you can install the Japanese version over your existing English version of SonicStage 3.4. I did replicate your current setup with SonicStage (running SonicStage 3.4 with AppLocale) and the "Omgjbox.exe error" is no where to be seen. So, let’s try: installing the Japanese version. In addition, you could also try employing the Asia-Pacific version as well and apply the appropriate registry edit accordingly. ensure that the NW-HD3 is not connected while starting SonicStage 3.4Good luck and report back with your observations. Ishiyoshi
Thanks Ishiyoshi! When I try to run SS Japanese Version Installer (downloaded from this forum), I get yet another error message "Cannot install with this Windows language (20993)".Can it be installed only on Japanese Windows?Yes, by default, the Japanese installer only works with Japanese Windows. For your convenience, I have edited the Japanese installer so you can install it on English version of Windows. Please download it accordingly. jaeson2953
I tried reinstalling 2 versions of SS3.4 with no success. 1. Japanese VersionEven with the edited installer (Thanks Ishiyoshi!), I was having difficutly. Installer kept stopping before completion. I could finish installing it only after I changed 'Language for non-Unicode programs' to Japanese in Control Panel. Anyway, I still got "Omgjbox.exe" error when I connected my NW-HD3 while SS3.4 was running. Also, most of the menu buttons were not legible (they show ????????).2. Asia-Pacific VersionInstallation was easier, but the same error happens with AppLocale (after registry edit). No error without AppLocale, just like US Version. Finally, I tried to reinstalling Microsoft AppLocale, but it made no difference. So now I'm back to US Verion with AppLocale for Japanese. I just have to connect NW-HD3 to pc before I start up SS3.4 to avoid the error. So far, most of functions (importing from CD or files, title editing, transferring, and etc.)seem to be working fine.I guess I just have to live with it until someone figures out. Thanks for your support!!
Fumasu
Sorry to revive this old thread but I have exactly the same problem with my HD5. I could avoid applocale but SS won't display japanese without applocale. Anyone have any idea why JP SonicStage won't display tracktitles when running on "non-unicode language = Japanese"? I prefer avoiding applocale alltogether (too much JP software) but SS won't let me oh btw, when using applocale some questionmarks remain; like those "display by" buttons on the left. Maybe I'm missing some fonts??Thanks in advance!~Thomasps. I'm running JP SonicStage 3.4 on US XP SP2, Vaio TR3AP3 Edited May 1, 2006 by Fumasu
Guest Stuge
Welcome to AtracLife !To my knowledge .SonicStage doesn`t support unicode that why you have to install applocale .
Fumasu
Welcome to AtracLife !To my knowledge .SonicStage doesn`t support unicode that why you have to install applocale .I know it doesn't support unicode, but that's what the "run non-unicode programs in which language" choice is for in regional and language options. It's basically what applocale does except for the fact that forcefully runs every non-unicode program in japanese.
