mmilovan
Last night, I went completely crazy. My valuable recording made on MZNH700 went completely wrong. First I tried SS 4.0, and until one point everything went OK. But Sonic Stage refused to export recorded file from HiMD disc to library. Then I tried method with Total Recorder, and it was the same.HiMD discs are brand new, translucent blue pieces I bought in USA.But, there is no single problem with listening that file on MZNH700, and bouncing of the unit were not produced on that particular spot. So, what is it? Faulty disc? Faulty unit?Should I try different formating of HiMD blanks (formated HiMD disc via Minidisc)?I always thought that new HiMD are trouble free, but now I don't know really what to think, except that I'm desperate... A440
What happens when you connect the unit via USB and play back with SonicStage? It stops partway through the track? That sounds like a faulty disc. If I were you, I would just play it back in realtime--using the Play button on the unit--and record out of the headphone jack, into the computer, with Audacity. It won't be perfect fidelity, but you'll have the track. Formatting the disc as MD means you'd only have SP, LP2 and LP4 recording, and the fault will still be somewhere on the disc. Once you get the music off the disc, I'd suggest just using it for playback rather than any new recording.
mmilovan
Yes, it stops in one moment when playing throug SS, and it wont upload track.Faulty disc? Ouch, again...These new discs are fault free, I thought they are. So, it is not the case? Anyone else experienced the same problems on new HiMD? A440
I had exactly the same problem on one of the first Hi-MD blanks I got, which was one of the earlier opaque ones. I haven't had any trouble with the translucent blue ones. But I believe other people have reported occasional problems. They're rare, but they do happen. Luckily you can still listen to the music and make a realtime copy of it.

I mean, were they easily recognizeable (let's say, you can record till 54th minute) and persistant, or they vanished from time to time, and emerged again on that very same place/time mark...? A440
It was just one disc, and I never had the patience to test whether it was one physical spot on the disc. I think I just threw it out. Sorry to be so unscientific.
mmilovan
It would be nice to do some statistic between our members - how many of us bought faulty blue translucent HiMD discs? And whats most interesting, I never had single MD that shows some sort of fault or detoriation. Roamer
Same as 440, I got an issue earlier with one opaque HiMD, and I haven't done any further tests.
