KushyGreen
Hi, new here. So for my birthday a few months ago, I got the Sony MZ-M100 mini disc recorder. and Ive been using the not so great mics that came with it.but for XMas I got an ausome mic. the Sony ECM-MS957. I had also been recording every show in a lower quality since Ionly had 1 1gig mini disc. I also got 3 more discs. so last night I gave my new stuff its test run on the first night of a new years run. So I transfered the 1st set. transfered the second set. then the 3rd disc gave me an error when trying to put it on my computer. What I think the problem is, was that when recording in the PCM mode, i only have an hour and 34 minutes to tape. where the first 2 sets were each an hour. this one was like 2 hours. and I did not attend to my disc till the show was over. when you stop recording it saves all your data. but I didnt stop it, it ran out of room. So is the problem that it didnt finalize itself?when I have the mini disc hooked up to the computer, I can listen to the whole hour and 34 minutes. just cant transfer it. Anything I can do?all help appreciated thanks
raintheory
If you can listen to the complete recording, the TOC was written correctly and the disc was finalized.First off, be sure you are using the latest version of SonicStage (currently 4.2).Secondly, you could try splitting the file into smaller segments (by adding trackmarks on the unit itself) and then uploading. I seem to recall a couple of people in the past having difficulty uploading large PCM recordings, but they uploaded fine after the recording was split up. KushyGreen
well it seems as if that has worked. I put track markers after each of the first 2 songs, and about halfway through the first song, it had an Access error, so looks like I recovered all but 1 song. thanks for the help
KushyGreen
actually I only recovered one song, looks like there was more than one spot it had an error, just gotta find em and track em out.
raintheory
Just a word of caution, with my RH10 I have experienced a problem (that I have been able to replicate) when trackmarking and then deleting small segments. For example if you were to put track marks on either side of a short segment, and then delete the segment. I'm not sure if the M100 would experience the same issue, but in my case it trashed the entire disc, and since the M100 is almost identical to the RH10... I experienced no problems with just trackmarking however. Just when deleting those small sections after trackmarking.Actually now that I think of it this error may have happened while removing trackmarks after the middle section was deleted/edited out./..Either way, use caution while editing on the unit just in case. But I think you should be safe just trackmarking. Edited December 31, 2006 by raintheory
