carchip
hi first post on this forum, but have done some homeworkhave spent the day reading different post resources etc. Some questions 1. MZ-NH600 (AU & NZ with line-in) cannot transfer tracks recorded from old MD (SP) on a MZ-R35 , however it appears that the new (and expensive) MZ-RH1 can. Why is this so....? ;-) what is a brief approximation of the technical reason... for the difference.2. old MD in MZ-NH600 in xp shows up as raw file-system and in computer management as unrecognized media. Is that the message from the device or does windows simply not recognize it?( Could it be mounted and the MD data structure copied /cloned? though it appears that the full workings of TOC and TOC are undiscovered and audio data could not be extracted anyway.... )3. Can any MD disks (or hi-md) be formatted from windows explorer ? will it damage the MZ-NH600 in anyway, will the discs become unrecognizable to it? 4. why can sonicstage initialize a md (not hi-md) for NetMD mode yet when it is closed the disc still appears to have 291mb when viewed in windows explorer. why does it not resize to 80mb or become 'unrecognizable' like a ordinary MD that has only been used in a MZ-R355. Does anyone know where to get a MZ-RH1 loan, rent, for a short period of time (so that i can upload old MZ-R35 recordings)6. Suggestions for a good portable (battery) stereo mic preamp (with meters perhaps?) for recording jams etc. or is it really much better to consider buying a flash based stereo recorded etc than to huntdown or wait for a good price on a MZ-RH1be great if anyone could make some useful comments , ( no need for the sony bashing comments ) as it might well be what others are wondering to and may not have been clearly articulated in one place in regards to these questions.Happy New YearCarchip Edited January 4, 2007 by carchip
