Question

Had a series of problems with my HD1.

The latest I can't get past is the follwing:

When I connect my HD1 player, Sonicstage message automatically appears with the message - checking if tracks were deleted without being transferred - or words to that effect (sorry it's crashed and I can't copy the exact message)

It the starts transferring, an error message appears with an OK box. Click thne 'ok' box and it repeats the same process. It does this constantly and I cannot do anything else with Sonicstage, until eventually I have to disconnect the device and Sonicstage freezes.

Problem started when I was using ss3.3, however I have done a clean install of ss3.4 (using ypu're instructions) and immediately got the same problem.

Has anyone had this problem as I'm in real need of help :unsure:

I asm running XP home, am in the UK and downloaded the Europe version of 3.4

Barnie - Have you fixed it yet, the reason I ask is i have a very similar problem.

I have a NWHD1 and was importing some MP3 files (which were located on my PC Hard Disk) into SonicStage 3.3 when the Application Crashed, I restarted and got the message - checking if tracks were deleted without being transferred. I then got the annoying OK, OK, OK Message Prompt Loop.

I uninstalled SonicStage 3.3 and did a fresh install of 3.4, same problem got the message - checking if tracks were deleted without being transferred. I then got the annoying OK, OK, OK Message Prompt Loop.

I then did a factory settings restore on the NWHD1 and a Format. same problem got the message - checking if tracks were deleted without being transferred. I then got the annoying OK, OK, OK Message Prompt Loop.

I then uninstalled SonicStage 3.4 and reinstalled a fresh copy of 3.3. I also cleared out the Sonic Stage Database so my librayr only has 5 tracks (which I freshly imported from CD's). Now when I connect the NWHD1 it shows up as having 18.6GB Free which is correct. I go to transfer a file and I get an error. something along the lines of cannot transfer to device. i then try the same file again and i get the error saying that there is no room on the NWHD1, I checked under device settings and sure enough it shows up as 0kb free. I have repeated this and everytime 1st transfer fails due to an error, second transfer fails due to NWHD1 being out of space.

I called Sony support who werent really any use, they said they'd never heard of it and i need to install the software on another PC to try and see if its my PC or the NWHD1.

Any help would be grateful, failing that i am going to install SonicStage on my laptop, which has a fresh copy of XP on it and i'll see how i get on.

I have found a way to shut that message without using Mp3 file manager ..

But I`m not sure that i will work with your HD1 you will will need to try this method..I hope this works ..

post-3480-1122965001_thumb.jpg

overwrite all the files(Given with the attachment ) in the folder "OMGAUDIO" (You will find this folder in the Network walkman )

Then open SonicStage & put some Music files ..

But If SonicStage tells to format the HD1 then i will need to find some other method.

I hope this method work .

grindle,

If this method does not work than you can use Mp3 file manger ver2. because you have HD1(mp3 upgraded ).

Just tranfer one mp3 file using mp3 file manager then SonicStage will stop that message .

Stuge,

Sorry for the late reply.....

I managed to get the NWHD1 to accept some tracks (using the laptop\fresh xp) however i get to a certain point on the disk and windows gives a delayed write error and the unit makes a loud clicking noise

The unit has now been returned to Dixons for repair......

Hi All,

Sorry to open an old topic....but

Got my Player back from Dixons (took about a month) I was surprised that all my music was still on the disk.

Anyway I formatted the Player and my PC, installed a fresh copy of XP and Sonicstage 4.....between May 2006 and now, I have been slowly building my Sonic Stage Libray back up and......

I have approx 50% of the 20GB Disk on the NWHD1 filled and I cant go any further, delayed write failure in Windows and System Error 32 displayed on the Unit.

I'm sure this is the exact problem I had last year when Dixons sent the Unit away for repair.

Does anyone have a list of Error Codes, or know what System Error 0032 is, I suspect HD Failure......luckily I did take out extra warranty, so I should be OK.

Thanks :)

I have compiled a list of known SonicStage issues (along with a couple of error codes) within ATRACLife's SonicStage Software FAQ.

As for "System Error 0032," it's a Windows file-sharing related issue. According to Microsoft, it occurs because

the process cannot access the file as it is being used by another process.

Ishiyoshi,

Thanks for the help, I'm not sure about the Windows Explanation for System Error 32, as its not windows what is giving that error, I think System Error 0032 (as displayed on the NWHD1) is a specific error code by Sony.

Anyway Its getting sent back to Dioxns today, so I'll see what happens...

Another Month without my Walkman :(
