nedski
Hi, all. In the quest for better sound for my MD, I've been bitten by the mic-building bug. I've put together a couple of samples using Radio Shack electret capsules, and I've got some better quality capsules coming in the mail. This forum has been an awesome resource - thanks to everyone. For cable I've been cannibalizing patch cords - I have some lovely small gauge single conductor shielded cable in a rubber sheath from a Sony cord. But surely there has to be a better way. I've been searching Digikey for shielded cable and most of what I get back is twisted pair cable that's used in networking and telephone systems. Does anyone know of a source for bulk shielded cable, or is it most economical to buy the longest extension cable at Radio Shack and chop? I like the fact the plug is already attached, but I also can't help but think there's a better quality cable out there.
