agxgny
Hello,I apologize if this is not the appropriate forum for this question......I've been using a sony hi-Md MZ-rh910 since about mid 2005, and had been very satisfied with it until recently. For seemingly no reason, now, when trying to read a disc, there is a grinding noise, and the player is unable to read, play, or record anything. It tries and tries but cannot seem to do anything any longer. The unit experienced no trauma, to my knowledge, i did not drop it and have generally taken good care of it. I tried using an MD head cleaner, which had no effect.Do any of you have any ideas as to why this would be happening, and what i might be able to do?Thanks... jonny mac
I would suggest disassembling hte unit & checking that there's nothing interfering with the thread that moves the head to the correct position. Sounds to me like this is the problem.
