Files transfer problem (SonicStage 3.3)

Hi,

Some days ago I bought Sony NW-A608 player. Nice thing.

But now I have 2 issues.

1. Can't transfer music files using SonicStage 3.3.

I read the forum - installed-reinstalled SonicStage several times, installed it on both XP SP1 & SP2.

When I try to transfer any file (mp3, oma), it begins and then shows the message "Error report: Unable to transfer the track or tracks: [tracks names]". After that it says that there is enought free space on my player.

When I try to erase the player content, it erases the content, but then displays the message "Initizalization of the media failed (Error code: 0000662e)".

ConnectPlayer works "fine", but it's a very slow application and I don't like it.

Please, help! I didn't sleep all the night and I don't know what to do now... :(((

2. Yesterday I've noticed that there is background noise in player's head-phones. I didn't notice it before.

It looks like you're listening a tape recorder with an old loud speaker. When I set the volume to 0 I still hear the background noise. When I try to use another head-phones (standard big head-phones for my PC) it seems that the noise is gone. Can the problem be in new Sony's head-phones? Do I need to buy another ones?..

Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, I can't install it online... :(

Are you using proxy ip address or Firewall ??

Do you know why SonicStage 3.3 doesn't work with NW-A608, but detects it correctly?

Is it a "feature" or what?

Did you do something with your computer Windows ???

Were you able to use SonicStage ver3.3 before ??

Stuge, I can't install it online not because I have firewall, etc.

But I'll try to solve this problem.

(I have the full installer for SS 3.3. Do you know during what period SS3.4 will be available (full)?)

Are you formatting you player from the player`s advanced menu ??

Once more question about formatting.

Did you ask about formatting using ConnectPlayer or SonicStage?

I formatted the player in ConnectPlayer, but there is no option to format it from SonicStage... or I missed something?

Stage, I don't know that I'm so stupid :)

Of course you asked about Advanced menu in the player. But! I couldn't see such an option later! I tried all player's features, but I couldn't find (there were no these options!) "Advanced", "Cue/Rev", "USB", etc... Why? Why these options are available now?

Press the menu button for a second then scroll down using jog shuttle then enter advance menu then .you will see format option in the player .

Please do not format your player using windows explorer .

Stuge, I've formatted the player already. I don't know how I couldn't enter the menu before...

It seems that it all work fine now. Thank you very much.

Do you know where can I download a full manual for NW-A608?

---

What about the background noise in the player? Are standard Sony's head-phones good enough? Or is it the player's issue?

---

And the last question: is it true that a608 support USB 2.0? I don't think that my player is connected using USB 2.0, because transfer speed is very slow. I tried to copy files using Explorer and the speed was about 500-800 Kb/s. It's very slow. (the player is connected to USB root hub (without any additional hubs, directly to the PC) and USB is configured normally)

You can download Full A600 manual from the download section of the forum

NW-A600 Full Operating Manual

Sony`s earphones(MDR-E931) shipped with the player are good but they are very uncomfortable for some .

Are you taking about the Hiss?

Hiss also depends upon the quality of Audio cd .e can reduce the playback noise during ripping through SonicStage .

In Tools=>Options =>Cd Importing =>check on cd writing settings.

Yes ,its true that A608 does support USB 2.But computer your should be USB 2 as well to support it .

You're right, they are not comfortable enough.

Yes, it looks like a microphone hiss. As I said above, I hear it even when I set the volume to 0. I tried many different songs with good/bad quality - there is no difference. Besides, I don't hear the hiss on my PC.

About USB. I'm working with PC very long time and know much about hardware/software, but as I said above my USB supports 2.0 (I use USB flash 2.0 drive). So, the problem isn't in USB adapter.

Iknow that USB 2 devices are very fast but since i haven`t used A608 so i can`t comment on that .

Many people in the forum have repoted hiss from their players but i haven`t listen to hiss except in one of two mp3 that i have .

But you can look here

What hiss?

Hm-m... It's interesting. Some people have the same problem. It's not good.

The player is amazing, but the hissss...... it's killing the admiration.

Well, I think I'll try also the player with another headphones. Could you advice good low-end/high-end headphones, please (unfortunately, I don't know audio accessories very well)?
