NEWBE to this fourm,lots of info here,thank you all.this is the trubbl?ive got a netmd sony430-USB interphase only?plays music great,but i have to record on my r70-old shool-from what ever sorce i hapin to use at the time,(NET RADIO,MP3 FILE,ITUNES,ECTworks great.did i hapin to say i was a Mac user!.an the 430 only works on a PC-via-SONIC STAGE.well i got a pc laptopTOSHIBA with WINDOS 98 on it?lots of ram loaded sonic stage all went well i guess,it seams to work?somtimes.heres what i cant do.transfur ATRACK files from the net md to my drive in my laptop,is there some little trick iam missing,cuz i can go from my HD drive to a blank disk on the 430 no prob,but not back?i want to load all my music to the laptop from all my MiniDisks,got over a 100 disk.a whats out there for classic Mac apps,i havnt found much,only in OSX an when i tryed it on my G4 TI it didnt work?what to do?any pointers would be a great help.

It can't be done. It's a hardware limitation.

The only unit that will upload files in SP, LP2 or LP4 is the MZ-RH1.

Otherwise you have to do a realtime recording into your computer. You can automate that process slightly by using Hi-MD Renderer (see the thread in Software, or get the program free from Downloads). Its MD Recorder function has SonicStage play the files on the MD one by one and make a new file for each track. But that is a realtime recording.

You may see, if you search the net, old gizmos like PC Link or or other promised devices that say they offer "uploading" from MD. They don't. They just connect to various ports for realtime recording. With your unit, direct file transfer is one way only, from PC to MD--not the other direction.

THANKS for the info,youjust comfermed everything ive figgered out so far.ive got an outher prob my NW-e103-poker chip.cant seem to load music on the dam thing,its a flash drive,an for the life of me it wont upload?? from the pc/laptop-whats the trick,i plug it in my Mac an get a Disk/Img,great!iam a Hard/Ware Tec,so iam working on a cool little cabl/USB to ? not sure yet,i need to learn a bit more about the hardware,but i will do it! Mac to Mini Disk,good luck-AH.any input would be great,maby this has bin done allredy,or not!

just looked @ your post again!i understand the transfer,thing with the upload files in SP, LP2 or LP4 MZ-RH1.but its a signal!you have to figger out the S/W-H/W that talks to that exact signal,then go from there,sounds like a long prosess AH.
