podmed2
Here's the short saga: I put in my favorite Hi-MD - 2 years in the making of best of the best music. I expected a long night of good tunes. The MZ-M100 briefly showed the "information" for the last MD I had in there - 1 week ago, and then said the disc I had was not playable or readable. Bottom Line = Dead Hi-MD disc, had to reformat. Is this phenomenon common? I have been with the MD since the days of the $500 bundle of the (Walkman and Deck) - 1990s... If my discs start to get corrupted, Steve Jobs will have another iClone. Thanks!!!!

Did you try another disc, or reseting the unit, or seeing if SS would recognize the disc??I always use reformatting as the last option, there are usually workarounds, hope you can remake your discBob
