Question

Hello Atracer,s

I think my NW-HD1 is ready for the trash can but I will ask the question because you guys have answeres for all sorts of things.

I was listening to the device and went to skip to the next track. A "database not found" error came up.

Now when I turn it on the walkman logo comes up and then he screen goes completely blank. I can hear the drive spining but then it just stops.

The mode, menu, volume and arrow keys do absoultley nothing.

Any suggestion besides a fish-tank ornament ?????

thanks all

Hello again Stuge.

No I was sitting quietly at my workstation with the NW-HD1 on the desk as i do all to often.

Hey Stuge.

It has just come good again after about an hour and half of turning it on and off. Nothing has changed like environment or treatment ????????

interesting.

The device must have know it was in for some treatment from the STUGE

See you next time on the post

First of all there is no reset button present in HD1 ..You can reset HD1 via main menu."Reset to Factory Settings" this will not format your hard disk.

or OFF your battery & then on it again using on & off button preset at the buttom.

Hey stuge. I dont have access to any of the menus on the device. Are you just suggesting to turn the device on and off again in your last comment? cheers

I`m advising you to turn your players battery OFF ..USing ON-OFF button present at the buttom(see picture)

I hope I am not appearing to be that stupid to everyone ! Thanks for your reply but yes I have tried turning the unit off then on again. I think I will lift the cover disconnect / reconnect the battery a see what happens.

You are not appearing stupid ..Don`t feel like that .I don`t think disconnecting the battery will do the trick.

But Best of Luck

Hey Stuge (and all others)

I had some luck with my HD1.

I lifted the cover and due to the lack of tools on hand did not want to force the battery disconnect so I played around a bit and did the following.

I tried turning the unit on and off about a zillion times but with no luck

Then with the battery switch on but the unit in the off state I put it in the charging cradle. While still in the cradle I pushed the up arrow to load the device. Whilst the unit was loading ( The walkman logo appearing) I egected the unit from the cradle. For the first time the unit did not crash (screen go blank) this looked promising. The unit however did not show any of my tracks, artists etc etc. Still out of the charge cradle I toggled the battery switch and bingo. My HD1 is a functional unit again.

Cheers
