1kyle
Using the MP3 conversion tool to convert ATRAC Advanced Lossless to 320 kbs MP3 works OK ==mp3 files stored in a test directory not in the SS library. Playback works via Windows Media player and Nero Show time. The same file played with Nero showtime seems to sound MUCH better than using the built in Windows Media player. Thisi to me is strange it should sound the same given identical hardware. Now if I try to play the file with SS 4.3 it just hangs ??. I have to re-boot to kill the SS application. So here we have a SONY program used to convert an ATRAC file to MP3 and yet the same file can't be played by SS. (It works if I FIRST import the MP3 file into the library but that makes NO SENSE as it will DOUBLE the size of the Library. Since a Library can't span multiple disks this is a HUGE waste of space and restricts the usability of the Library.I'm not sure what sort of I.T they have at SONY --but obviously they didn't try out a lot of this stuff first. I like a lot of Sony products --but Oh dear why does the USER INTERFACE HAVE TO BE SUCH A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.Cheers-k
