Beijingpodcast
Hi,I am new here. I just bought a second-hand Net MD Walkman MZ-N710. Cause it was second-hand I don´t have the software SonicStage 1.5. But I really need it. I know it is pretty old but is there still away to get a free download of that version somewhere? I really need it. To install a newer version doesn´t work. I already tried it. Please, please help me, cause it is for my work and my boss will kill me if it is not working. Thanks, Hanna. Avrin
What do you mean by "To install a newer version doesn't work"? SS15 was very glitchy, and newer versions actually work much better. The official version for the MZ-N710 now is SS43 (see here: http://support.sony-europe.com/DNA/MD/NMD/...n&m=MZ-N710 ), although I would advise installing SS42, since it is more stable (the only thing added in SS43 is Vista support). The list of web-installers for SS42 is here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?s=&am...st&p=117507. Just remove any previous or later version of SS before installing SS42. A440
You probably need Administrator rights on your computer to install any version of SonicStage. You may also have to turn off any security software while you install--don't forget to turn it on afterward.
Beijingpodcast
Hi,I downloaded SonicStage Version 4.2. But how do I get my recordings from the Net MD Player to my computer. There is no guideline how to do it in the manuel. I am probably just to stupid to do it. What do I have to do to transfer the recordings. Need help
A440
Sorry to say this, but NetMD recordings cannot be transferred to the computer from the MZ-N710. The connection from PC to MD is one-way. Only one unit transfers NetMD recordings from MD to PC: the MZ-RH1, which is also called the MZ-M200. Otherwise you have to record them out of the headphone jack in realtime. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070If you are making new recordings, a Hi-MD unit will transfer its own recordings, which are in different formats. NetMD used SP, LP2 and LP4--those can only be uploaded from the RH1 or M200. Hi-MD units use PCM, Hi-SP and Hi-LP, and all of those formats CAN be uploaded with SonicStage. So your best choice might be to get a Hi-MD unit: preferably the NH700 or NHF800 if not the RH1. Edited October 29, 2007 by A440
