petenayl
Hi,please can someone help. I have had a minidisc for many years. It broke recently and I have just purchased a MZ-RH1 (after much difficulty, but it is a gorgeous machine!!) to upload my music to pc, as I have an iPod which I can use in my car etc. I have a HEAP of music on minidisc which I want to put onto the iPod but I can't seem to get it to work properly. sad.gifIt transfers onto Sonicstage 4.3 beautifully. I read some info somewhere that you could drag & drop (Sonicstage to iTunes) with both windows open but that doesn't work. I converted to WAV files but it renumbers every file with an 001 and isn't copying across any of the other information. I don't want to have to rewrite every, track, album, artist etc for +200 MD's! Is there a way to do this easily?thanks!WoWbagga.Infinitely prolonged is nothing.
raintheory
You might want to look into MarCs Hi-MD renderer... I know his program (which is freeware, btw.. but he accepts donations) will convert your files directly to mp3, as well as other formats.I'm not positive but I would assume that it would create id3 tags for the file information. I've never used the program to create mp3 files directly so again I'm not sure. Here is MarCs site: http://www.marcnetsystem.co.uk/MarC also is a member of the forums here so he should be able to clear some of my assumptions up. A440
Get Hi-MDRenderer from Downloads. Then use it to convert the .oma files in SonicStage's My Library to mp3. (Set it to high quality, at least 192 kbps.) It should copy over the tag information. Then you can put the mp3s on the iPod. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=12683And send Marcnet, the lone programmer who made the program and kept it free, a donation for saving you so much time.
