:bomb_phone::girl_devil:

do you need to install sonicstage 4.2 to get Simple Burner operating?

(do most people use Simple Burner to compress music files, attrac files in fitting onto MD disc?)

otherwise, there are other free cd rippers. (maybe even higher quality)

in Readme file, what does it mean when it says: Do not use MD Simple Burner with logging on Windows XP Professional.

So I've downloaded SB, then there are "data 1" "data 2" files to unrar inside folder. (I use WinRar),

I get this message: "Archive is in unknown format or damaged"

I click on setup launcher... SB icon appears, click...message appears:

"NetMDSB.exe has problem , needs to close. Please tell Microsoft".

What seems to be problem?

Also Sonicstage version 4 link leads to 'not found' error message.

So is there alternative download links?

what are some advantages MD has vs other similar players, Ipod or others.

(discs offering more versatility, tracks, higher quality, longer recordings?)

Simple Burner needs SonicStage, yes. SonicStage has the proprietary Sony codecs for ATRAC, the format played by minidisc. Other CD rippers don't.

Minidisc's advantages are mostly in recording. If you're just looking for a music player, there's no need to get involved with the complexities of minidisc. For sound quality, get a Cowon. For convenient interface, get an iPod or a Sansa.

Minidisc has good-sounding playback, and Hi-MD can play back .wav files (renamed PCM). But the maximum capacity of a disc is 1GB, so you'd need to carry around extra discs to match the capacity of most current mp3 players. And you'd have to deal with SonicStage.

Probably NETMDSB.exe (NetMD-Simple Burner) was looking for a piece of the SonicStage you haven't installed.

Could you provide alternate download links to Simple Burner/Sonicstage?

(there is an OpenMG Secure module error when opening Sonicstage)

also another error message in Simple Burner.

Do you need to go on Sony's site in downloading other versions? (or download.com?)
