samangelcat
I'm a new member and have been playing around with MD for years. I have an MZ-M10 and it doesn't come up anywhere on the Sony site. I want to download some programs but can't find any. Also, is there any advantage to getting a newer version of the MD recorder? The MZ-M10 has hi-MD. thanksJeff B.
A440
The MZ-M10 is the Mac-compatible version of the MZ-RH910. If you have a Mac, look for the Mac Transfer software in Downloads here or on Sony's site. http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/files.php?cat=2If you have a PC, get SonicStage 4.2 to run with Windows XP or SonicStage 4.3 to run with Vista. You can go to Sony for SonicStage 4.3. Here are 4.2 installer links. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=18645
Avrin
The MZ-M10 is a nice second-generation unit, based on the MZ-RH910 (which I have), which has all the functions of the MZ-RH10 (or MZ-M100), but is not subject to the OLED burnout. The only advantages you'll get if you buy a third-generation unit, the MZ-RH1 (or its MZ-M200 version), is the legacy MD upload capability, and uncrippled MP3 playback. But you'll almost lose portability (it is really inconvenient as a portable player, although it is a good portable recorder, because it remembers level settings). In the future, when you need support for the MZ-M10 on a SONY site (software, drivers, manuals, etc.) just select the MZ-RH910 from the list of available units.
