stefanoalberto.russo
Hi all, I have a minidisc portable player with both usb and optical line in connections and i have an interesting question:Let's assume that my recording source is a normal audio cd, and that i will encode using SP mode.I can transfer it on my minidisc unit in two ways:1) Using SonicStage and the usb cable2) Record the cd directly on the minidisc unit using a digital (optical) connection between the computer and the minidisc unit.(Yes, the third is to use an analog connection but this way has a heavy loss of sound quality..)Does these two ways of recording generate the same atrac file?? The recording algorithm that uses SonicStage and the minidisc unit is the same? Does SonicStage use a more efficent version of atrac compression algorithm since it has more computational power (the pc) ?Sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand me... :-)Thankyou!!!!!..:: Ste ::.. raintheory
SP via SonicStage is only LP2 quality. There are a few threads around here regarding this, as well as some frequency analysis graphs of my own testing...
