Hey there folks, nice to see the Minidisc community still alive since I was very happy with my own one a few years back. I stopped using it for quite some time because my I couldn't handle in-ear audio anymore. Well enough of that, I'm trying to use my MD again but I have this problem for a couple of months now..

When I transfer songs from my PC to the MD through the OpenMG Jukebox (v. 2.2) program, they won't play. It's converting and transferring it perfectly but it doesn't play them. I'm not sure what the problem here seems to be, maybe the minidiscs themself? A while ago I tried to record songs via optical cable through the PS2 and those didn't work as well. I've read the sticky and there is no way in hell I am able to do all of that. I'm not very good at opening electronics and messing with them.

Does anyone have experience with this problem and know how to fix it? I loved the soundquality of my Minidisc and it would be great if I could retrieve it's function without having it to send in for repairs or something.

cheers.

Funny, I used to mess a lot with the discs, but I just check it now and my older disc filled with music says its blank now. I had recorded 1 song to it.

The player works fine, I can insert old discs and listen to music. The problem is merely recording. I'm gonna try recording with optical cable again now.

About the track time progress, I don't think it progressed. Just stayed at 0:00

The older (OpenMG) software is fairly buggy. So it could be an issue with that...

You may want to grab the newer SonicStage 4.2 program (for XP & older) from here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=17769

If yr using Vista you'll need 4.3, but there have been reports of problems running 4.3 on computers that aren't running Vista.
