ratbagradio
When working at home doing a recording for one of my podcasts I like to plug my HiMd into the mains for power. But soemtiems the power source interfers with the recoding and I get a massive crackling surge. I find if I turn off the MD and reconnect it preferably to another outlet I don;pt have a sound problem at all.So whats' happening do you think? Sometime I move the (plug in power) mic around and that will lessen the interference but not overcome it completly -- but I've yet to work out the actual cause so I can protect myself from it in advanceI'm in Australia so we do have a different mains setup but thats' not relevant given all devices are set to wok on whats' available here. A440
Through the years many people have commented that AC power can make noise on the recording. I think it's supposed to have something to do with grounding. But why not just use a battery? Unless you're doing some eight-hour marathon recording session, you won't run out. ratbagradio
I know a battery is an option but it seems rather silly when I can plug it inot the mains ands supposedly harness that power source but my MD only offers complications in that regard....It si possble to do this especally if I switch to different powerpoints but I was wondering on the cause.
