This MZ-B100 is in excellent condition. I bought it new in the US (so it has English as its standard language, unlike some units) and have handled it carefully, always storing it in the original Sony felt bag. I can't claim it as "mint" because it has a very few very minor wear marks, though certainly not many for its years: there's one tiny nick in the case near an edge, a couple of very small scratches on the LED window, and one tiny scratch on the battery door -- none of which is noticeable unless you're looking for evidence that it's not brand new.

I have:

  • the recorder
  • the remote (virtually unused)
  • the headphones that came with the remote (ditto)
  • the original felt bag
  • the manual, with English section separated from Spanish for easier portability
  • a couple of new blank discs that I'll throw in, with cases and labels

The MZ-B100 is one of the only MD recorder models that includes both L & R on-board mics and a speaker. It's incredibly useful to have recorder + mics + speaker in one compact package that fits in a pocket, so you can record or play back without attaching any peripherals. For years I've seen friends struggle with getting mics set up, plugging in headphones to check on recordings, carrying around their entire MD kit in some larger bag or box. If you _do_ want to attach a higher-end mic or headphones, of course, that's also an option.

Another rare but useful feature on this model, for musicians especially, is the variable speed control function for playback (+10% to -20%). It also has voice-activated recording, so it was originally marketed for business uses like dictation and recording meetings. And it operates on a single AA, which lasts for 15 hours of recording time in LP4 mode.

I'm happy to provide photos on request, though there's not much to see that's not on the product page at http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-B100.html

I'm seeing very few recent sales of this model, so haven't many data points on which to base a fair price. The most recent sales I find range up to $415; of those the most recent on this forum was snapped up quickly for $350.

Asking $325, including shipping to a US address. PayPal preferred.
