Interesting that Sony can send emails like this for your registered products but not advice on firmware updates.

This is rather interesting ,You mean to say that you didn`t get e-mail from Sony to update your A1000 using firmware ??

I always get Sony e-mails regarding SonicStage update .

Nope,

Nor any mention of the firmware updates for NWE400/500s; these were released here after the update was available but with the original version. There was a small line on Sony Australia's site about this update and a rather well buried link to AsiaPacific support for it.

I have also registered my HD5 ,HD3 via Asia pacific ..Not sure why does this happens with you ..

Anyway here is an update on the A1000 case:
