Abby Normal
I know that the details of the sending parts of Sony LCD remotes over pins 2 and 4 are well documented, but is there technical documentation on the received data on pins 1 and 3? I think it might be fun to play with that.
Abby Normal
Oh, I also may be assuming too much. The receive data could be coming out over the same pins (2 and 4). Pin 1 is probably ground.
Abby Normal
I found someone's work on this very topic vis-a-vis the MZ-R3. It's a dead link off of our hacking page, but here's the archive.org version:remote control display interface signalingPin 1 is ground and Pin 3 carries the display data. I'd like to learn more about the process for gathering this information.
Abby Normal
Correct (I think)--what I'm trying to learn here concerns the signals that get converted by the remote for display on the LCD...a receive only signal. This is separate from the (documented) codes for commands, right? They are differentiated by changing R1 and R2.
