Hi Guys

I am Vicente from Spain and it is my first message into your comunity.

I mean that I do not speak English and to communicate using the google translator.

Therefore, I ask forgiveness if some things when I speak is not well understood.

Also ask that if we speak with me, your try to use an easy language for me, but I do not understand anything.

Well, I do not have almost no knowledge of the MD, but for many years I'm using my Sony JE 530 and my Sony MDX 580.

And I have many doubts about this issue.

I will change my JE 530 by another MD deck and I need your advice because your are a great community.

My doubts are these:

I want an MD deck for more quality than my current JE 530 and I thought of buying something through Ebay.

My first choice is an JE 980, but if I can not find one in good condition, I would like to know what other MD deck miscanthus are within the sound quality in recording and reproduction.

I always burn of CD to MD, maybe a Md deck onkyo, kenwood, pioneer,........

What another MD deck are good as JE 980??

I also doubt if I buy an MD deck or maybe it would be better to directly buy a HI-MD, perhaps the Onkyo FX 105 S.

Of course if I buy a HI-MD, I am only interested in the quality of recording and playback on disks 80 min, 1 GB I'm not interested, because I might not play in my car.

I hope your advice in this issue and thanks very much for everything.

Regards

Vicente

All these Sony decks will do:

In the *30 family: JE530, JE630, JB930.

In the *40 family: JE440, JE640, JB640.

In the *70 family: JE470, JE770.

In the *80 family: JE480, JE780, JB980.

JB machines are better built than the JE's.

Better than the JB980 are the JA's:

JA33ES, JA555ES and JA333ES.

Avoid Hi-MD. Hi-MD will not play in your car unit.
