Fujistu MDS-03 MD Transport

Hi all,

I'm a bit of a Nakamichi ICE lover, no frills, no flashing lights, just the best sound.

My head unit is a Nak MD-45z, which I bought brand new a number of years ago (8 ish!) - it was brilliant, and worked perfectly until the MD transport developed mild psychosis and became unusable. Unfortunately for anyone in dear old blighty who has any post 1998 Nak gear, there is now no service available, and obtaining spare parts from Nak is a slow, painful and expensive process. Indeed, any spare transports they supply for their MD head units, come from the stock of unsold head units they still have in their warehouse.

I have since bought another two MD-45z's, only one of which functions normally.

Having taken one of the duff units apart, I have discovered that the transport used in the MD-45z is the Fujitsu MDS-03, but unfortunately, Fujitsu Ten say they don't supply spares, and that I have to go the manufacturer of the unit into which the offending article is installed.

Therefore, what I would like to ascertain is what other MD equipment this tranpsort was used in - please note that this transport allows only for the reading of MD media.

I believe the Fujistu part number is 324000-01100700

Any information would be gratefully received.
