NWZ-W202 Help...

Question

Hi.

You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge when it comes to technical terminology, but I'll try to explain as coherently as I can:

I have an NWZ-W202 Walkman, and wanted to change the music I had put on it earlier. So I hooked it up to my laptop, wiped the music and put new music on. Problem is, it won't play the new music. The file formats of the music are supported (plain old mp3), and the battery is fully charged. In my humble non-technical opinion, I believe the problem is that when deleting the old music I deleted a bunch of other stuff (there were numerous non-music files showing up on it before hand - drivers maybe?) which is now not there.

I've trawled the net (sony support etc) for 'replacement' files, and cannot find them anywhere.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

From what I've experienced with my W202, there shouldn't be anything user-accessible from the viewable file system that would disable playback completely simply by deletion. In the first place, I'm surprised you wiped out everything and not just music files. If you're not confident about drag-and-drop, I recommend simply syncing with Windows Media Player - it's a failsafe way to get music on the W202 and into the correct directory.

not familiar with your unit but if I were me I would download sonicstage from here and try that

Good Luck

The NWZ-W202 doesn't work with SonicStage (although the Japanese-only NWD-W202 does). AFAIK, it supports drag-and-drop, or may work with SONY Content Transfer software.
