i have these phones & i'm underwhelmed by the pad size & shape & the resultant driver touching the ear problem. can you tell me what conclusion the author came to about attaching other AT pads [ad7 ad700] for sound & comfort? i bablefished it but the resultant garble made the conclusion unclear to me.

so bluetin got back to me about the ad7 pads. bluetin said au$10 each pad. audiocubes want au$67.15 for a pair. my mate in tokyo couldn't find them [he's not such a a/v geek though].

i've done the phatpad mod with some stiff surgical tubing, the change is amazing, they sounded decent before but were a shit to wear, now they feel great on the ears & the sound is more precise, more detailed although there seems to be be more lowend than before. i'll probably grab the ad7 pads anyway, au$27 inc postage isn't much really for science's sake

That's brilliant! I'm glad you were able to acquire the pads at a relatively affordable rate. Perhaps you could post your own findings between the pads of ATH-AD7 and ATH-AD10 at a later date.

will do i'll have about two weeks to get some listening done on the original pads with the "phatpad" mad surgical tubing strengthening the pad wall then i'll borrow a better camera to highlight the changes the change set & teh modded pads bring
