When Sony will compete with IPOD VIDEO?

I can´t understand why there is no unit that really compete with the new IPODS, 60GB with video is an excelent unit and almost the same price that the NW-A3000 (here in Chile the NW-HD5 is almost the same price that the IPOD VIDEO 30gb).

Is there any news (or rumor at least) of a new unit? or may be Sony will leave the Atrac format and doesn´t give nothing new.

I think the video it´s a good thing, but I think many can live without it, but I hope, if there will be a new unit, that have a big Hard Disk, and how if it can play Atrac Lossless, that I think it´s gapless (gapless playback the only real thing that keeps me stay in Atrac format and don´t fall in MP3).

Does any one think like me?

Personally, I would rather have the better build and sound quality, than video. if I want mobile video, the PSP is more suited (running movies from a 2GB memory stick).

One year....I think many will move to Ipod in that time, but what else can we do.

By next year, we will probably have iPhone, real video iPod with touch screen, and 10GB nano. Can Sony compete with those? I don't think so.

Many people don't want video. I certainly dont. It's not usefull jogging or listening to.

The rare occasion I want to view video on the move, i.e. a long plane journey, I use the PSP. the 99% of the rest of the time audio only is fine.

What I am trying to demonstrate, is everyone has different requirements. Some who travels 2 hours on a train every day may want video, someone who has different useabe patterns may not,

Ill only buy a pmp if i can get at least 10 hours of vid playback..kinda liked the creative pmp..zen something...would have bought that instead of the HD5 if it had better play time

Many people don't want video.

Right now i don`t want video but i think it will be a nice addition in Sony walkmans ..Also they can`t compette any HDD mp3 player without giving Video options in their players.

First the HD1, a few months later, the HD3 (and HD2) and then six months later, the HD5 and a few months after that the A3000 (cept for here in the US) now sony decided to make us wait a year? So I went and bought the ZVM and I am not pleased at all with the sound quality. What I don't understand is that even with draconian DRM sony could have kicked the Ithing years ago. Vaio pocket had color screen, touch pad, albulm art....the next step was video. Can't they farm this out to sonyericson instead of making us wait until next year? And while their at it why don't they make a service similar to Rhapsody and Napster with atrac to go files? The next HD player better have a removable battery like the the HD5 and Digital Sound Preset too!!

Connect is there ..but the only problem is tehy sell DRMe`d music .I`m sure with time they will improve it .
