.... it came without Software CD. I am currently using MP3 file manager, however, as I cannot use the "new" features (shuffles: sport,my favorite, recent, playlists,etc) and -as per my searches, looks like the software is only available through the CD and not through the web.. is thi strue?

.. on the other hand, is there any chance to get SonnicStage 4.0 so support this unit in the near future? If yes,I might hold on with mp3 FM until it´s release... I am also afraid of the terrible reviews of the Connect software... or did the update fix it?

Don't worry, only 4 days before Sonicstage CP (4.0) is released which will let you use the full potential of your A-608 walkman. About CONNECT player, no idea if they're going to continue its development, or if they're going to melt it with sonicstage in a future release. Then, if so, it'll be downloadable through sony and connect sites.

But now, only Sonicstage CP has been announced, covering all the net walkmans (MD/FLASH/HDD and A series with their special functions).

On my A608, I'm not able to transcode files with 48000kHz frequency.

And what do I do with the Podcasts @ 22kHz, like will WMA 22kHz work on my 608?

@willykyu: I have a japanese version of the nwa608... I am located in Costa Rica, central america.... can i use this new sonnicstage 4.0 CP in English?... does it fully support this player?.. thought when mentioning the NW-A series it referred to the hard drive units.

I also have a HD5.. would I be able to use the above program instead of Sonic stage 3.4, which I am currently using? or would this not be a good idea?...

I have a separate question... since my player is japanese -i can tell from the radio frequency band that do not work for my region - can I only use the Japanese firmware?? I assume yes, as preciswely, thos edifferences in radio bands.... I had this silly thought about perhaps modifying the band frequency through another region firmware..has anyone tried this?

SonicAStage Cp is will be fully compatible with older devices & First it will be released in Japan then other version willl be soon available .
