donnsuil
Hi, I have an old MZ-N10 which I pulled back out of retirement to listen to some old recordings I made some time ago. This hasn't been used for about 5-6 years, and has been stored in a pouch in a dry cool area for the duration. I'm sad to say it doesn't power up, neither on the mains, using the AA attachment, nor in the cradle. It was working when I put it away, so I was fully expecting it to work when I went to use it. I have the details of the local Sony service centre, but I'm game to attempt a repair if anyone is able to suggest a solution. I've done a fair bit of digging through the internet, but I cannot find anything other than "take it in to the service centre" or "buy a replacement" for this problem. Cheers. donnsuil
...never mind. It has started working again. Maybe the contacts needed to be cleaned, and the repeated insertion and removal of the battery pack/cradle/cable has cleared it. I guess this information could be useful for others who are in the same situation. Cheers.
