You could try this (XP) :

Go to the Device Properties page for your player (In Device Manager).

Go to the Policies tab.

Select 'Optimize for Performance'

---

Now you should be able to format your player with NTFS (natively via Windows) .

You can switch back to 'Optimize For Quick Removal' after formatting in NTFS.

It seems that Windows tries to discourage using NTFS for portable devices.

Guest Stuge

or in Command prompt Write

To Convert a drive go to start, select run and enter cmd into the run box. When the cmd windows appears enter the following as shown in the picture below

convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

But remeber then HD3 will not be able to play music file from player itself (It will show you error).I don`t recommened to convert External drives to NTFS until you want to connect it to PS2 or something like this

I have moved 3 files on 4,35GB to my NW-HD3 with original format before, no problem.

Now it shows "disk is full".

It is newly initilazed, using the menue on the NW-HD3 itself.

Is it possible to use WinXP to format the disk in FAT32, and will it then be able to use as before (play music?, eksternal HDD?)
