I use max bitrate of atrac, max volume, min brightness

life - about 13 hr

and when i use line output life seems to be shorter

when you say 13 hours.....do you mean that after 13 horus it does actually shut off because the battery is dead? or do you mean that its on the last bar, so you charge it?

i find that my player goes to the last bar of battery life fairly quickly.......but stays there for a very long time.

if you didnt let it run all the way down, try that, because as i said, beign on the last bar of battery life doesnt neccessarily mean that its out of juice.

13 hours to shut off

well the 35 hours stated is based i think on the lowest bitrate of atrac, mid volume, etc etc.

also, do you use any of the EQ settings.....i find that makes a HUGE difference.

anyways i use min brightness, max vol, 64kbps atrac, no screensaver, etc, and i get around 25 or more hours, depending on usage.

there are so many factors involved.....play mode, the ammo8unt of time you sepond swithcing between tracks, and pressing buttons on the player.

13 hours does seem kidna short though......but maybe try a lower bitrate ir something?

i like hi bitrates, no eq

and seems 13 hr it is not so poor

its just expirience of "player's life"

When Sony came up with 35 hours they probably were using 48 Kbps with the volume set to 0, wouldn't surprise me.
