I have a Sony Vaio laptop Model PCG-61211M which has a broken DVD drive. I have managed to pick up a second hand DVD drive from the same model which even has the correct colour faceplate fitted so I don't even have to change that. My problem is how do I get the old drive out? I have removed every screw on the back anywhere close to the DVD drive and it won't come out. Has anyone any experience with working on this model? I know that on some older machines you had to practically strip them down even removing the keyboard to get at a retaining screw but I would have thought being a pretty recent machine it would be more advanced than that. So basically can anyone tell me the trick in getting the drive out?
