I have 3 issues with my brand new Sony Vaio E series 15.6 inch laptop with win8, Core i7 and 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HD.
1. Performance:
When launching applications, and even during general use, the laptop feels very slow and sluggish. Sometimes, applications freeze for a while. Overall, I am pretty disappointed, as my expectations of i7/8GB were very high.
in fact, In the store, I have seen some Win 7 laptops with core i7 / 8GB RAM, and they seemed incredibly fast.
2. Mouse pointer after sleep:
I have a microsoft USB mouse connected to the laptop. After sleep and resume (by closing lid and re-opening), the mouse pointer vanishes till I un plug and replug the mouse. This is pretty annoying. I have tried all the USB ports with the same results.
Mouse pointer works fine on resume from Hibernate.
3. Recovery disk:
While trying to create recovery disk, the process always hangs at a random point: Sometimes 29%, sometimes 42, sometimes 0%. I am unable to create recovery disk at all.

Has anyone else seen these problems?
Any pointers to diagnose/fix the issues?
regards,
prasanna.
