My Impressions of the New NW-A3000 Firmware

Love the new version of the firmware on the A3000, theres only 1 part that I would love to see improved now and thats the display. I would prefer the option on having the display on all the time as the clock for a screensaver is no good if the display keeps turning off while the music is playing.

10 - 60 secs is no good for me lol I would like to see:

Disabled or ON

That unfortunately won't happen for this player, sony would be in an absolute world of hurt if they did. I'm also surprised that they even added the 60 seconds one, although the old 20s one was a bit of a pain.

Anyway, the screen is an OLED, it has a mean time before failure of around 1000 hours (that means if you leave that screen on for 1000 hours it will start to fail) - thats about 42 days or so. The reason for this is because of one colour in the screen doesn't cope so well as the others (the blue, yes I know theres no blue but I think its needed to make white, anyway, blue is just the colour most likely to fail, the others still fail as well).

There is some recent technology though for these screens which allow them to last alot longer. Its still in testing though.
