jim1274
I am cleaning out the minidisc gear drawer and thought might be worthwhile to see if anybody here on the MD enthusiast forum has interest before going to ebay. One of the players already went to ebay just recently, so that one will have to be bid on if any interest: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-MZ-E44-Minidisc-Player-with-extra-battery-remote-battery-pack-EXCELLENT-/111011848552?pt=US_Personal_MiniDisc_Recorder&hash=item19d8d26168 I also have a Sharp 702 player/recorder that is mint and probably only been used a handful of times. I can't find the charger, but have one on the way right now, so that will be a few days before ready to sell here or on ebay. I bought that and the Sony (that is now on ebay) plus an MD deck plus an MD car head unit right at the end of the MD golden era. I never really had a need for the portables--just got sucked into the game before thinking about what would really be used. The deck is long gone, and the car MD unit went on ebay several weeks ago. I also have 170 or so (need to count again) minidiscs that were recorded on one time to compile the best of my extensive classic rock collection plus some selected blues, 60's obscure garage rock, and a few other things for mobile use in the car. Well, the car got sold to a friend shortly after installing the MD deck, so I gave the disc collection to him and he used it for a while and then sold the car. He pulled the deck and put the factory radio back in--thought I might want to use the deck again someday. I used to to fill a spot on the closet shelf... I am guessing 80-90% of the MD's were never even played after recording, so almost everything is in great condition, but it is not like the minidiscs would wear out like a tape and such anyway. If anybody has interest, let me know. If not, off to ebay. I did notice that a lot of 77 mix "tapes" like mine sold recently for 125 bucks on ebay, so there does seem to be a market there if no interest here. Over 20 bids which surprised me--did not think this MD still had such a strong following until finding this forum and seeing MD stuff was selling briskly on ebay. I even got seventy something bucks for the MD car deck listed as not working for parts!!! Yikes! This is my first post here, but I am active on a lot of forums and ebay and have perfect feedback and trader record, so you can check my references. jim1274
Oh--just remembered I have some new sealed Sony "Onyx" discs too. Had them listed on ebay, but no takers. I do have a guy from Australia begging to buy them at a premium over the asking price, but I really don't want to mess with the hassle of international sales. Here is the expired listing from ebay to see what they are if anybody wants before I relist or cave in and sell to Mr. Australia: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111008926799?ssPageName=STRK:MEUSX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1562.l2649 Also have an active ad for some other new discs. This one is for 10 total assorted discs but I just looked at ad and realized did a poor listing job--it looks like from the picture that I am selling 3 discs and not the 10 included in the auction: Auction is for 3 still Sealed plus 2 opened (but believed to be unused) Sony Premium Gold 80 Minute Minidiscs Made in Japan bought new (sometime in the late 1990's is my guess) plus bonus 5 SEALED NEW HiSPACE MD 74 Minidiscs Made in France also purchased new (again guessing sometime in the late 90's). Wrappers are intact but there is a little bit of sticky residue on one of the wrappers. The number on the back of the 3 sealed Sony's is MDW80D. The two opened Sony MD's appear to be the same as the sealed ones--see photos for identification. http://www.ebay.com/itm/111011457908?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Maybe I am way off, but 20 bucks buy-it-now plus shipping seemed like a fair deal? Or 10 bucks opening bid if anybody has interest.
jim1274
Since nobody expressed any interest in the used minidiscs, I went ahaead and just listed on ebay if anybody wants them. Opening bid is under a buck a disc. The last ebay sale was $125 for 77 discs, so mine are priced well under that. There also is a buy it now option for a little over a buck a disc. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=111013026155
