NW-A3000 DEAD?!

Question

I was transferring files to my NW-A3000. I took around 3 hours using Sony's Sonic Stage latest version. During this time, the red charging like was not on, but the player was fully charged before the 3 hours marathon song select / upload session.

After I finished uploading songs, I did the "remove device safely" thing and then when I unplugged the USB at the computer end, the device turned off.

Now after repeated attempts, it doesnt turn on at all! I tried pressing the hold button and then pressed the play button. No response. Thing seems to be dead.

I havent used the reset button yet, but will there be any point in using it if it doesnt even turn on?

I tried plugging it into the USB again, and the red charging light came, and then it went after around 20 minutes.

And still the player seems to be dead.

WHAT DO I DO?

THANK YOU!

When I posted my problem 6 hours ago, I had almost gone mad with frustration. ~x(

This isnt actually my cousin's player and I had got it from her around 12 hours ago for transferring files.

Only when it stopped working did I realize that it was a player which cost 300$ (around 1 months salary for me, and I am gonna start getting a salary only 3 months from now). :(

6 hours ago, I didn't try reset because I thought the data would go. My cousin would have gone mad if her Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys had "vanished". So I went mad pressing the play button again and again hoping the damn thing would work. Even thought it was cuz of static electricity and did some complex "maneuvers" to earth the damn thing. :D

There are no Sony service centres here in India for this thing. I don't think the people here even know Sony sells 20GB mp3 players. And after reading one of the threads here of a customer who couldn't get a replacement, I was really in despair.

After reading your post, when i did the reset, the thing started working like as if nothing had happened!

U have no idea how relieved I am. The amount of dishonor I have escaped from cannot be fathomed. :D

BTW, Sony's site sucks. Nowhere it was mentioned that data wouldn't go after a reset.
