NW-E003 trouble

Question

Hi all,

Please help! Just bought one of these 2 days ago for my travels. I already have an NW-HD1 which works fine and sonictage 3.4 installed with windows xp home edition (with service pack 2).

When i try transferring songs to the NW-003 its sometimes transfers them, other times it may say "can't find device" or "not enough free space left" (even when theres 700 megs left). It then said to Format it, which i did, but now when i transfer songs on they get a "DRM ERROR" on the player.

Will installing Sonicstage 4 sort out these problems? If i install sonicstage, will it cause problems when transferring to my old NW-HD1? Is there anything i should do to my computer to get sonicstage working properly?

I tried getting a refund at the shop i brought it from, but they said no as it worked fine on their computer. So i need to find a solution!

Cheers for your help!

Welcome to AtracLife !

I will advise you to format your walkman, using main menu (Don't format using Windows Explorer)

Query:The following error message appears: DRM ERROR. What can I do?

This suggest that the files on your WALKMAN are corrupted. You will need to erase the corrupted data:

1. Connect your WALKMAN to your computer and transfer all the audio files to the computer.

2. Disconnect your WALKMAN from the computer and format the WALKMAN with the FORMAT menu on the WALKMAN.

Note: do not use Windows to format your WALKMAN.

Hi,

I did format it prior to transfer using the built-in format function.

Do you recommend upgrading to Sonicstage 4 though anyway....

It's better if you upgrade ver 3.4 to 4 ,but before upgrading ,do make a back up using "SonicStage Back up" tool.

Just one more question,

Should upgrading to version 4 also stop all the errors while trying to transfer? I have to keep re-opening SS after every few minutes with the NW-E003.

Should i completely un-install version 3.4 before installing version 4?.... do i need to remove registries (if i do... how do i do this?)

Cheers again... last post hopefully!

I can't give you 100% assurance ,but other other upgrading ,you have no other option.

I don't recommend un-installing it ,but if you still like to uninstall the previous version then read the instruction given here(SonicStage FAQ's)
